Can Better Lighting Help Keep Your Home Secure?
On Wednesday, April 20, the Vice President of Connecticut Lighting Centers, Todd Director, appeared in a segment on WFSB’s Better Connecticut. He discussed recent trends in outdoor lighting with Scot Haney, featuring Quoizel products.
Safety
Do you know how often homes are burglarized? According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report, one home every 14.6 seconds is the target of a break-in. Todd explained that a well-lit landscape can deter thieves from choosing your home over one that isn’t lit at all.
Affordability
Years ago, you would have been burning thousands of watts of electricity by keeping your outdoor lights on for eight hours overnight. Today, with the advancement of LED lighting, you can protect your property from a break-in without breaking your budget.
Energy-Efficiency
Todd discussed the advantages of using LED bulbs in exterior lighting products, explaining that a 4-watt LED bulb can replace a 60-watt standard bulb and produce the same amount of light. Rather than burning 120 watts in a two-bulb fixture, you can use 15 times less energy. Additionally, you can invest in products that have built-in LED lighting and a 5-year warranty.
Quoizel
The prominent fixture on display was a water-glass wall sconce by Quoizel. Todd described it as the traditional New England style lighting piece, just more decorative for your outdoor living spaces. At Connecticut Lighting, you can find all of your landscape lighting needs!
