Does Your Outdoor Lighting Need a Style Change?

On Friday, April 22, Todd Director was a guest on CT Style. He spoke with co-host Ryan Kristafer about the benefits of updating your exterior & landscape lighting and mail boxes now that spring has arrived.

Quoizel Lighting

Todd showed some of our Quoizel products on display, a longtime supplier for Connecticut Lighting Centers. In particular, the Newburgh series was featured. Todd explained that this popular style has been selling since the 1980s, so they asked for a more modern water-glass version to be created. It is a more updated look to the same classic style.

Shop Local

Connecticut Lighting Centers supports many local companies by carrying their fine products. Todd showcased lanterns from Brass Traditions, located in Terryville, a very New England-style company. Another popular fixture is the barn light, which produces shaded light. They are a different design and cast down light, great for above your garage.

Mix and Match

You can match your Connecticut Lighting exterior wall lights with post mount lights for a unified look from our wide selection of poles for other outdoor fixtures. Available in any finish you want, stylish Particle Board Core Plywood (PBC) poles sell for only $249! We also carry a selection of mailboxes in any color you desire.

LED Bulbs

LED light bulbs not only save energy, but last at least 20 times longer than standard light bulbs. You can use two, 4-watt LED bulbs in your outdoor lighting fixture as opposed to two 60-watt bulbs, produce the same amount of light and replace them less often.

Safety

Studies show that a house that remains lit through the night is less likely to be broken into. Years ago, you might have worried about electricity being too expensive to leave lights on at night, but now, LED lights are an option for exterior lighting. You can also have motion sensors installed so that if an intruder is on your property, additional lights will come on.
