Press Release: Connecticut Lighting Centers Hires New Director of Business Development

Connecticut Lighting Centers announces the hiring of Carla Beard in a newly created position as Director of Business Development. Ms. Beard will focus on developing new business relationships in untapped markets with builders, remodelers, architects, and designers, as well as major corporate accounts. She will also serve as a coordinator between internal showroom lighting consultants and outside clients.

Carla Beard is a Certified Lighting Consultant with over 25 years of lighting experience, utilizing her skills to illuminate restaurants, spas, retail businesses, high-end residential homes, exterior landscapes, and conversion of existing buildings to upgrade codes. She has converted many spaces to energy efficient lighting with a high return on investment.

Prior to joining the Connecticut Lighting Centers team, Ms. Beard was the proprietor of a large lighting showroom in Southern New Hampshire where she built relationships with interior designers, builders, architects, electricians, and kitchen and bath designers. Carla has a degree in Business Management that provides a strong managerial background. This, along with her technical background, provides her the unique ability to specify and manage lighting projects of any scope.

As a Certified Lighting Consultant, Ms. Beard is licensed to provide specification to code and meet the standards of the American Lighting Association – including providing ceiling reflectance, switching plans, and lighting controls. She is able to assist with projects that require blueprint reading, and has trained directly with many lighting manufacturers across the US. Carla has an up-to-date knowledge of current lighting techniques and products and has a reputation for creating lighting plans that not only impress but are practical minded.
