Connecticut Lighting Centers Receives Prestigious Award For Lighting Excellence

Connecticut Lighting Centers Jim Meltzer, Outside Sales Manager, and Neil Fleisher, Vice President, pose with the Lutron Five-Star Showroom of the Year Award that was given at the Dallas International Lighting Market on January 19, 2012. The prestigious award was given to Connecticut Lighting Centers for their Interactive Lutron Lighting Display of whole-home lighting control systems.

Connecticut Lighting Centers was named a Five-Star Showroom of the Year by Lutron in recognition of their unique Interactive Lutron Display of whole-home lighting controls. The award was given at the Dallas International Lighting Market on January 19, 2012 in Dallas, Texas—a show that offers more than one million square feet of lighting fixture resources and attracts thousands of buyers from across the globe. The prestigious award is the first of its kind representing an elite group of 50 showrooms in the U.S. and Canada.

This custom display, only available at Connecticut Lighting Centers’ Hartford showroom, includes information about the new wireless Radio RA2, Homeworks QS and window shades. These whole-home lighting control systems allow control of all lighting, heating and air conditioning remotely. It also provides energy saving benefits with CFL and LED dimmers and occupancy sensors.

Winners of the award demonstrated a combination of creating an interactive experience of Lutron solutions along with having properly trained sales people to educate consumers about the product. The goal is to create a hands-on shopLutron Award 5-Star Showroom of the Yearping experience for the customer—allowing them to touch and see the Lutron products and learn how they work.

“Connecticut Lighting Centers’ Lutron display delivers. The destination allows customers to see and experience the value of Lutron solutions,” said Bryan Biga, National Sales Manager of Lutron. “Their excellent retail merchandising vision will influence the future of our displays,” added Biga.

“We are so proud of Jim Meltzer (Outside Sales Manager for Connecticut Lighting Centers) for leading the way in Lutron products. His vision and ability in home controls and shading is outstanding. It’s rare that one has both the capability of laying out these systems and has the full understanding of the installation process as well. We are extremely fortunate to have Jim leading the team and our efforts,” said David Director, President of Connecticut Lighting Centers.
