Playing a Different Tune
Restoration Lighting Gallery created six one-of-a-kind show stopping pieces from decommissioned instruments. These instruments now turned into lamps came from the E O. Smith High School Music Department in Storrs, CT.
After years of being played, these instruments were no longer in work ing condition. The repair costs exceeded the value, but no one had the heart to just toss them away. Each instrument had sentimental value and a unique story.
That is where Restoration Lighting Gallery came into play. Restoration Lighting Gallery created six beautiful table lamps from these instruments. Each one was designed and carefully refinished and wired. Now, their future shines bright as decorative and functional table lamps!
On May 15, a silent auction was held at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts in Storrs, CT to sell all six lamps. 100% of the proceeds went directly back to the Edwin O. Smith High School Music Department.
“The entire crew at Restoration Lighting Gallery bent over backwards to help us and generously donated their time and talent so that 100% of the proceeds of this auction will go directly back to the EOS Music Department,” said Mr. Aaron S. Burgess, Director of Bands at Edwin O. Smith.
