Measuring a Glass Shade Fitter

Measuring a glass shade fitter is actually pretty simple. With a few easy steps, you will know the exact size glass shade you need.

The three steps for measuring a glass shade fitter:

• Measure the diameter of the base of your lamp where the bottom of the chimney shade will rest – this is the “Fitter” dimension. Select the correct fitter in from our selection of fitter shades
• Select the height. The height is measured from the top to the base of the chimney (ideally, it should extend from about 3” to 4 ½” above the top of the lamp shade on a full-sized lamp).
• Measure the diameter. The diameter is the measurement of the widest part of the chimney also known as the bulge
