Keeping Your Kitchen Up-To-Date & Bright with LED Lighting

Vice President of Connecticut Lighting Centers, Todd Director, made an appearance on Better Connecticut May 17. He was interviewed by Scot Haney about light layering and the latest advances in LED, featuring Sea Gull Lighting.

Under-Cabinet Lighting

As Todd explained, the Sea Gull Ambiance Glyde LED Module evenly distributes light from the back to the front of your kitchen cabinets. It’s small, thin profile makes it virtually invisible wherever you mount it, yet the Glyde shoots light 90 degrees without casting any shadows.

Matching Your Backsplash

Two variations of the Glyde were featured; the 2700K and the 3000K. The 2700K complements a traditional, black backsplash the best, while the 3000K makes your more modern, white backsplash pop.

Adding Light Layers

Under-cabinet light produces a significant amount of light, but homeowners often add other layers like recessed and pendants. Todd recommended a small, 1 ½ to 2-inch recessed light that adheres directly to your sheetrock for easy installation.

Mirror, Mirror

Scot’s favorite item of the segment was the Electric Mirror LED Mirror/TV, made with all Samsung components. The fixture doubles as a mirror and a television, so you can easily hide one when you want to show off the other.
