Lighting Design Is All in the Details

Deer Valley North Townhomes in Ellington, CT is the latest project by Santini Homes Inc. The complex is a rental community of luxury apartments for which we provided the lighting and so much more! Each unit features products from the Connecticut Lighting Centers showrooms, from lights to ceiling fans and decorative hardware. Our Vice President, Todd Director, recently appeared on Better Connecticut to tour the townhomes with Scot Haney and Eric Santini. Let’s explore by room.

Lighting in the Kitchen

Unfortunately, most rental units will not spend the money to cut in recess lighting. Instead, there is a big fluorescent or LED light placed in the middle of the room as decoration. At Deer Valley North, we used recessed lighting for a cleaner look and pendant lights above the island for a more “homey” feel.

Customization in the Bathroom

The lighting in the unit bathrooms is more decorative, but still provides the quality lighting you need to complete tasks. Through our close partnerships with each vendor, we were able to customize wood frame mirrors specifically to what the Santini wanted for these rooms.

Decorative Hardware

We also provided the hardware for these townhomes, which we like to call “jewelry for the home”. Schlage, one of our most trusted brands, produces beautiful pieces in a variety of finishes. Their knobs and handles are sure to stay tight on your doors and cabinets!

Ceiling Fans by Room

The right ceiling fan will depend on the style and purpose of the intended room. For the living room, we chose a Kichler ceiling fan with four large LED bulbs to provide general illumination. In a more modern room like the community gym, a stainless-steel ceiling fan and recessed lighting paired best with the machines.

Energy-Efficiency for the Home

Nest thermostats are extremely easy to install and use. They have the intuitive features we need to reduce our energy consumption. All units are equipped with this smart technology.

When it comes to the outdoor illumination, we look to reduce light pollution. This happens when the brightness from fixtures is not restricted to their property alone; it reaches the street as cars are driving by and the sky too.

Any residential customer can get these features. We provide full service to homeowners who want to transform their lighting design, security and automation. To learn more, contact us today!
